The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Auburn Tigers face off on Wednesday in Columbia in SEC college basketball.
The South Carolina Gamecocks were unable to follow up their first SEC win of the year with a second victory as they fell on Saturday at Ole Miss. South Carolina is 1-7 in the SEC, 6-4 at home this season, and they sit in last place in the SEC standings. Sindarius Thornwell is the Gamecocks’ leading scorer averaging 13.4 points per game. Brenton Williams is averaging 13.3 points, Duane Notice is averaging 7.5 points, and Michael Carrera is averaging 7.0 points and 5.1 rebounds. South Carolina is averaging 71.2 points and they are shooting 43.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 70.9 points and their opponents are shooting 43.6 percent. While the expectations weren’t all that high for South Carolina this year it has still been a disappointing season.
