The William & Mary Tribe tangle with the North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks at Trask Coliseum.
William & Mary is right in the thick of the Colonial race at 5-3 with a chance to move up or down depending on whether the recent hot streak continues. The Tribe won their third in four tries following an 81-79 decision at James Madison behind an offense that built an eleven point first half lead before surviving some defensive lapses to hold on. W&M connected at almost 56% including 13-21 on threes but did give the ball away 15 times that helped the 42% shooting Dukes 21 more looks. Leading scorer Marcus Thornton pumped in 26 points with Tim Rusthoven tossing in 16 followed by Omar Prewitt and Brandon Britt with 21.

North Carolina-Wilmington's record could be summed up as more points are needed to help out a defense that has been scored on. My way of saying this team needs a boost in both areas which has been a reason the Seahawks are staring at a 12 game slide. UNCW did a solid job of controlling the scoreboard versus Drexel but the offense struggled in a 61-50 defeat with 35.7% from the floor not enough to keep up with the Dragons 44% with a 16-7 deficit at the line being key. The offense received a contest best 22 points and five yanks from Addison Spruill but he didn't get enough from the supporting cast with three others adding between 5-6 points.
I don't think we can say take the better team here because that isn't the way the CAA works. I'll back the Tribe versus struggling North Carolina-Wilmington who has a better chance then what most think...
