The Line: Florida Atlantic Owls +2 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Florida Atlantic returns home after a three-game road trip and will hope to win two straight games for only the third time this season when Middle Tennessee State comes to town. The Blue Raiders have won three straight games.
The Owls have been so up-and-down all season, but they are 6-3 straight up on their home court. It’s the road that has given them trouble, as nine of their 14 losses have come away from home. Despite playing three straight road games in their last five contests, they’re still playing solid defense, holding opponents to 37.6 percent shooting and only 60.6 points. The problem is they haven’t scored 70 or more points in five straight matchups.

The Blue Raiders have been playing fantastic basketball as of late at both ends of the floor. In their last five games, they’re shooting above 48 percent from the field and holding their competition to only 58.8 points. While there are plenty of players on this team who can take over a game, senior forward Shawn Jones has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games. Middle Tennessee is 3-4 SU on the road this season.
Against the spread, Middle Tennessee has covered four of its last five games, while FAU is 2-3 in its last five. Overall, the Blue Raiders are 9-9 ATS and the Owls are 9-8 ATS. However, the Blue Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings in Florida Atlantic and the favorite has covered four of the last five games when these teams have played.
East Carolina is playing much better basketball and is 5-2 in conference play, while FAU is only 3-4.
Give me the better team and the small chalk.
