The Washington Huskies go on the road to face the Utah Utes in Thursday night PAC 12 action.
Washington can light up a scoreboard as well as any team but their issues reside at the defensive end of the floor where opponents also score in bunches. The real issue is what happens when the offense has an off night and needs a strong effort. We saw that to a degree in a 72-67 loss at Washington State although the Huskies fared well with a 44%-41% shooting edge. The problem was the Cougars 21-9 advantage at the charity stripe which won the game. CJ Wilcox gave the Cougars 24 points with Perris Blackwell adding 13 points and ten pulls while Andrew Andrews and Nigel Williams-Goss combined for 21 points.

There are teams that struggle on the road for one reason or another but Utah is more of the extreme with an 0-6 road record but a near flawless 14-1 home mark. The Utes finished up a three game road swing, going 0-3 following 79-75 defeat in overtime to Colorado. Both attacks finished at around 43%-44% shooting but Utah made their living on the perimeter with eleven bombs while the Buffaloes led 23-10 at the charity stripe. Brandon Taylor and Delon Wright pumped in 17 points each with Wright amassing eleven helpers while Dakari Tucker and Ahmad Fields combined for another 21 points.
Washington has the better conference record but face a team that has been a terror on their home floor. I am not going to play the big chalk but I will give the nod to the Utes...
