The Line: Dartmouth Big Green PK -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
It should be a fairly decent game when the Yale Bulldogs take on the Dartmouth Big Green Friday night at the Edward Leede Arena. Both teams are riding a mini two-game winning streak.
The Bulldogs are playing their most consistent basketball of the season with wins in four of their last five games. During that stretch they’re shooting 37.2 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from beyond the arc. They’re only averaging 63.8 points, but they’re holding opponents to 64.6 points on 43.9 percent shooting. It goes without saying that Yale isn’t much of a scoring team, but junior guard Javier Duren has scored in the double digits in three of his last four games. Defensively, Yale is allowing teams to shoot 46.2 percent on the season.
Dartmouth is fresh off an overtime victory over Princeton, which gave the Big Green their second win in their last seven tries. The reason for the struggles is a lack of defense as of late. They’re allowing teams to shoot 48.5 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from downtown in their last five games. Offensively, they still shoot a high percentage at 46.3 percent on the season, but even that average has dropped to 40.7 percent in their last five. Tyler Melville, who hasn’t been much of a scorer, dropped 21 points in his last game.
Yale is 4-4 against the spread this season and Dartmouth is 4-5 ATS. At home, Dartmouth is 3-1 ATS and Yale is 2-3 ATS on the road. These two teams are really even but Yale has dominated this series over the years, winning eight of the last nine meetings straight up.
Give me the Bulldogs in a pick em game on the road.
