The Siena Saints will take on the St. Peter’s Peacocks Friday night at the Yanitelli Center. The two teams met a couple of weeks ago and the Saints won 64-47.
Siena hasn’t played in a week and is coming off an overtime loss to Quinnipiac. The offense is shooting 42.8 percent from the field and averaging 70.1 points per game. Defensively, it allows 72.9 points per game on 42.8 percent shooting. Sophomore forward Brett Bisping has scored at least 14 points in three of his last four games.

St. Peter’s is a brutal offensive team that shoots just 39.5 percent from the field and averages 63.6 points. In its last five games it is shooting 23.7 percent from beyond the arc. Defense is a different story, as the Peacocks allow just 68.2 points per game on 42.3 percent shooting. It is tough to break the 70-point mark against this team.
Against the spread, Siena is 11-10 and St. Peter’s is 4-10. But that’s not the reason to go with the Saints in a pick em game.
The advantage in this game is the rebounding. Siena is averaging 37.9 rebounds per game, while St. Peter’s averages just 34.7. In the game earlier this year, Siena won the rebounding advantage 48-29, which gave the Saints second chance opportunities and allowed them to pull away in the second half.
St. Peter’s is only 3-5 straight up on its home floor and is 7-19 against the spread in its last 26 home games.
Rebounding is key to winning games in college basketball and Siena has a huge advantage in this matchup.
Take the road team with big confidence.
