The Line: Tulane Green Wave +3.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Charlotte 49ers first game of a two-game road trip will be a stop to play the Tulane Green Wave. The 49ers have won two straight, while the Green Wave are looking to snap a two-game losing streak.
Despite the two easy wins over Florida Atlantic and Florida International, the 49ers have shown a few faults in their game as of late. They beat North Texas by only two points, needed overtime to beat Tulsa and was flat out embarrassed by Louisiana Tech. In their last five games the offense is managing only 68 points, which is a six point difference from the 74.3 points they average on the season. Charlotte has also lost three straight on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
Tulane has lost three of its last five games and will be happy to have its first home game after a three-game road trip. The Green Wave are 8-3 on their home court. Despite the solid home record, they shoot only 41.3 percent from the field and average 65.5 points, while the defense gives up 70.8 points on 44.8 percent shooting.
Neither one of these teams has been playing great basketball, but the 49ers are clearly the better team when they actually decide to show up. They are 10-7 against the spread and 6-4 ATS on the road. The Green Wave are 8-8 ATS and 4-3 ATS at home.
Although this is the first meeting between these two teams since 2005, Charlotte has won the last eight games against Tulane. And the rebounding advantage of 38.7 to Tulane’s 33.6 gives me even more confidence in my pick.
Charlotte will do just enough to pull away in the second half and cover the small number odd makers are throwing out.
