The Butler Bulldogs will finish up their four-game road trip when they take on the Georgetown Hoyas Saturday afternoon. Butler has lost three of its last four games, Georgetown has won two straight.
Butler simply isn’t the same team with Brad Stevens now coaching the Boston Celtics. It is 2-8 SU in conference play and hasn’t looked impressive at all even in wins. It is shooting under 44 percent from the field and hasn’t scored at least 70 points in seven straight games. Defensively is where the Bulldogs manage to keep games close, as they’re holding teams to just 68.5 points on 45.2 percent shooting. They remain one of the better defensive teams in the Big East.

Georgetown is putting together a little momentum since it upset Michigan State at Madison Square Garden. It’s playing with a little more confidence and seems to since that it could sneak its way into the NCAA Tournament. The Hoyas are shooting 45.9 percent from the field offensively and holding opponents to just 66.5 points on the season. They’re 8-3 SU at home.
These two teams met in early January and Georgetown needed overtime to win the game 70-67. The Bulldogs held the Hoyas to 20 percent shooting from beyond the arc and forced 11 turnovers. Butler isn’t pretty, but it is a team that’s 6-4-1 against the spread on the road. Georgetown is 5-5 ATS at home.
Neither team really lights it up offensively and with the game played on national television, you can expect both squads to show up. Butler manages to keep games close, which is why I’ll take the points and call it a day.
The Bulldogs will scare the Hoyas for the second time this season.
