The Line: Duquesne Dukes -2 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
George Mason and Duquesne will battle it out in a showdown between two struggling Atlantic 10 teams. The Patriots have lost nine games in a row and the Dukes have lost six of their last eight.
Right when it looked like the Patriots were inching closer to earning a win, they go ahead and get blown out 84-67 to Dayton. In that game they turned the ball over 15 times and allowed the Flyers to shoot 54.9 percent from the field. Lack of defense seems to be a common theme for this team, as opponents are shooting 48 percent in their last five games and 45.5 percent on the season. Offensively, George Mason has scored 70 or more points just twice in its last five.

Duquesne has lost two straight, but at least has two conference wins, unlike George Mason who is 0-8 in conference play. The Dukes average 75.2 points per game on 44.2 percent shooting, while giving up 75 points on 45.6 percent shooting. In other words, the Dukes also struggle to stop the other team from scoring.
With defense not much of a priority in this game, it may be best to wait for the total to drop before wagering.
But from a spread perspective, George Mason is only 7-12 against the spread this season but five of those wins have come on the road. The Dukes are 7-3-1 ATS and 3-1-1 at home. They’ve also covered their last four games.
George Mason isn’t as bad as its record indicates but it’s impossible to pick which team is going to show up. That’s why I’ll take the home team and the small chalk.
