The Kentucky Wildcats have won their last two games and they are ranked 18th in the nation. UK is 3-3 away from home and 7-2 in the SEC sitting in second place in the conference standings. Julius Randle leads the Wildcats averaging 16 points and 9.9 rebounds. James Young is averaging 14.7 points, Aaron Harrison is averaging 14.2 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 11 points. Kentucky is averaging 80 points and they are shooting 47.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 67 points and their opponents are shooting 39.8 percent. Kentucky is still improving and has as much talent o their roster as anyone.
Mississippi State is 5-0 against the spread in their last five home games, 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, and 5-1-1 against the spread following a loss. Kentucky is 4-1 against the spread against the SEC, 4-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 3-12-2 against the spread in their last 17 road games. The underdog is 7-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings of these two.
This is a big point spread with a road favorite in a conference game but in this spot it is justified and my play here is on Kentucky.
