St. Mary’s, meanwhile, snapped a two-game skid with a 77-58 rout of Loyola Marymount Thursday, improving to 7-4 for 4th place in the conference. The Gaels shot an outstanding 58.5 percent from the floor and connected on 6 of 13 from outside the arc to the Lions’ 43.1 percent from the field and 2 of 10 from distance. Junior G Kerry Carter scored a game-high 20 points, including 4 of 7 from downtown, senior F Beau Levesque had 17 points and 14 rebounds and 5 assists, and senior G Stephen Holt added 17 points on 8 of 10 shooting. Rick’s Pick: The line in this one is currently set at -4.5 for St. Mary’s. The Gaels topped Pepperdine by 4 last time around and this is a home game for the Waves so not sure about the line. These two average about the same amount of points per outing and shoot about as accurately as one another. That said, Pepperdine gets the lean.
