Tulsa will wrap up a mini two-game road trip with a visit to play the Rice Owls Saturday afternoon. The Golden Hurricanes have won three of their last five games and the Owls have lost 10 of their last 12.
If you’ve been following along this season, you should have picked up the trend by now. Always bet against Rice. No matter what the number is, there’s just no way you can back Rice this season. None. Zero.

The Owls are just 8-9 against the spread this season and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games against C-USA competition. They are also 17-35 ATS in their last 52 home games. Meanwhile, Tulsa is 12-7 ATS and 6-5 ATS on the road. It’s a program that has also covered the number in its last five road games against Rice.
Rice is simply a poor team that doesn’t do much of anything right on either side of the ball. It shoots just 41.1 percent from the field and averages 65.2 points. Defensively, teams are scoring 71.8 points on 44.6 percent shooting. Tulsa doesn’t exactly light it up, but 73.4 points and 43.7 percent shooting is certainly better. Holding teams to 42.2 percent shooting is also better than what Rice has to offer.
There’s just no value in taking Rice and the points. It’s the worst team in the C-USA and has won only two games since the middle of December.
I’d advise you to just skip this game, but if you want to torture yourself, take the Golden Hurricanes as your only real chance of making any money.
