The Missouri State Bears go on the road to face the Southern Illinois Salukis at SIU Arena.
Missouri State is 6-5 in the MVC which is good enough for a third place tie but when looking at the standings it's really a free for all for third and fourth. All that means is win and take care of yourself because just one slip could be a huge drop. The Bears have been heeding that warning because they have been winners in four of five after knocking off Evansville 66-52 on Wednesday. MSU hit at 40% from the floor and the Purple Aces checked in at 35% which equaled a few more field goals and not much more. Jamar Gulley was the star of the game with 18 points and 12 boards with Ron Mvouika netting 18 points and snagging ten boards.

At this point in the season I think it's safe to say Southern Illinois doesn't want any part of a shootout and are content to sit back in their half court sets. Having said that the Salukis have been lighting it offensively to the tune of 76 points in winning three straight. SIU jumped out to a 17 point first half lead at Drake on the way to a 74-58 victory. The Bulldogs were held to under 37% while the visitors lit it up to the tune of 51% to go along with a 21-13 advantage at the stripe. Desmar Jackson paced three DD scorers with 24 points, five yanks and five assists with Anthony Beane Jr. adding 20 followed by Bola Olaniyan with ten points and eight boards.
This is a tough one and naturally I look at the team with the better record and that is Missouri State. The one thing that bothers me is the Bears struggles on the road and that has me thinking different...
