The Towson Tigers will put their 12-1 home record on the line when the Charleston Cougars pay a visit Saturday afternoon. The Cougars have lost four of their last six and the Tigers are winners of three straight.
These two teams met in the middle of January and Towson put a beat down of 72-57 in South Carolina. Charleston shot only 33.3 percent from the field in the loss.

That’s been the story for the Cougars all season long, as they’re seriously offensively challenged. They shoot only 42.2 percent from the field and average 63.8 points per game. Defensively is where it tries to make an impact, holding teams to just 40.9 percent shooting. The Cougars also grab 38 rebounds, which also helps keep games closer than they probably should be.
Towson plays a lot like Charleston but does everything better. Defensively, teams shoot only 39.9 percent from the field and are lucky if they top 70 points. Offensively, is where the key difference is with the Tigers shooting above 45 percent and averaging 73 points. They’re also an even better rebounding team than Charleston, grabbing 40.1 per game.
Charleston is 9-12 against the spread and Towson is 8-7. The Tigers are 5-3 ATS at home and the Cougars are 6-6 ATS on the road. If the Tigers were able to crush the Cougars on their home court, it shouldn’t be any different with Towson at home.
This is actually a pretty small number considering this game is a real mismatch, especially if the shots are falling for Towson.
Take the home team and the small chalk with high confidence.
