The Bowling Green Falcons play host to the Akron Zips at the Stroh Center on Sunday evening.
Akron might not always dominate an opponent for 40 minutes but at the end of the day they own a share of first at 7-2 which ultimately is the bottom line. The Zips topped visiting Eastern Michigan 52-48 to win their fourth in five contests with a come back from a nine point first half hole. The Eagles owned the shooting edge 40%-32% but Akron mustered a few more looks at the basket with 15 forced turnovers and a handful of free throws to get just enough offense. Demetrius Treadwell and Nick Harney shouldered the scoring burden with 17 and 15 points while combining for 24 rebounds with Quincy Diggs chipping in with nine points.

Bowling Green has been competitive in the conference although they have been a bit streaky. The Falcons have followed a three game winning streak with losses in three of four that was capped off an 83-76 defeat at Toledo. The visitors trailed by nine at the half before holding their own over the final 20 minutes behind 46% from the field. The Rockets were held to 37% from the floor but won by turning 24 Bowling Green personals in to a huge 29-7 advantage. Anthony Henderson and Jehvon Clarke were unstoppable with 23 points each with a combined 14 rebounds and 14 assists while Spencer Parker netted 16 points and snagged seven boards.
The world will be on Akron simply because the records say so although Bowling Green has been competitive and can't be ignored. This looks too close to bet so I'll go against the grain and cross my fingers...
