The Houston Cougars welcome the Temple Owls to town in a Sunday afternoon AAC battle.
The rebuilding goes on for Temple basketball meaning the best way to win is to score and hope the defense musters some stops. The record says how successful that has been and a 75-52 loss at Southern Methodist on Thursday tells us what happens when the offense stalls. The Owls trailed by 12 at the half and were never in it with 30% shooting while the Mustangs hit at 54% to total eleven more baskets. Dalton Pepper led three DD scorers with 15 points and seven pulls with Anthony Lee adding 12 points and eleven boards while Will Cummings chipped in with ten.

Houston has found the going tough in AAC action with a 3-7 mark that has turned a solid non conference start upside down. The Cougars are in the midst of a five game slide following a 77-62 home loss to Louisville. UH trailed 45-26 after 20 minutes with a second half rally running out of steam despite competitive 46% marksmanship. The Cardinals connected at a red hot 55% and led 20-13 at the free throw line in a slow half court pace. TaShawn Thomas and Jherrod Stiggers each scored 14 points with Thomas grabbing eight rebounds while Danuel House tossed in eleven points but production outside of the top three was tough to find.
As Temple fan I don't see a whole lot of opportunities for this team to steal a win especially on the road. I'll back the Owls until I dig in to this deeper but this is not a game that is a great betting opportunity...
