The struggling Kent State Golden Flashes host the Bowling Green Falcons on Wednesday night.
The defense first approach of Bowling Green proved there still needs to be points scored after fall to visiting Akron 65-63 on Sunday. It wasn't so much because of great defense that we didn't see a ton of scoring but because of turnovers with Akron guilty of 15 and the Falcons 18. The shots were falling at around 47%+ for both squads with the Zips making a few more shots and Bowling Green sinking a few more foul shots. Jehvon Clarke carried the scoring load with 19 points with Richaun Holmes netting 14 points and snagging 13 rebounds while Spencer Parker and Cameron Black tossed in 12 and ten points.

I think it's accurate to say that Kent State isn't as fearsome as we have come to know the past several years. The road has not been very kind and coming up short in close games have really put a damper on things overall. Things just have just been snowballing and continued to do so in 70-53 defeat at Eastern Michigan for their sixth loss in seven contests. The Golden Flashes trailed by ten at the break and never got their feet under them with 34.6% from the field doing the damage including a 4-26 mark on threes. Throw in 16 giveaways and Kent was fighting themselves as well as the Eagles. Derek Jackson and Darren Goodson tossed in eleven points each with Devareaux Manley adding eight while Kellon Thomas and Chris Ortiz netted seven points apiece.
Bowling Green has been competitive but doesn't always win which we see in their record. I understand why Kent State is favored at home and they are better then we've seen but I'm inclined to side with the points in a close one...
