The Line: Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders -14 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Middle Tennessee will put its five-game winning streak on the line when it hosts Tulane on Thursday night. The Green Wave have won four of their last six games, including two straight.
The Blue Raiders have been playing their best basketball all season during this winning streak. They’re shooting above 51 percent and averaging 71 points, while the defense has held teams to 61.8 points on 41.5 percent shooting. Those numbers even top their decent season averages of 46.1 percent shooting and 73.8 points. Senior forward Shawn Jones has scored at least 20 points in four straight games. The Blue Raiders are 9-11 ATS on the season and 6-3 ATS at home.
Tulane will have to rely on its defense if it hopes to keep this game close because the offense isn’t going to cut it. The Green Wave haven’t scored at least 70 points in seven straight games and are shooting just 41.6 percent on the season. Defensively, they have held teams to 66 points on 43 percent shooting in their last five games. Freshman guard Johnathan Stark has scored in the double figures in four of his last five games. The Green Wave are 10-8 ATS and 4-5 ATS on the road.
Middle Tennessee has been a completely different team as of late and is almost automatic with an 11-2 SU record at home. Tulane is only 3-4 SU on the road. The Blue Raiders are also 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 home games against a team with a losing road record.
Tulane doesn’t have the offensive firepower to keep up in this matchup and is almost guaranteed to get blown out. I’ll take the home team and the chalk.
