The Detroit Titans will begin a three-game road trip that starts with a matchup against the Oakland Grizzles, a team that has lost three straight games.
The Titans have won two consecutive games and are coming off an overtime victory over the Youngstown State Penguins. But while they’ve been a sleeper in the Horizon League, they haven’t been great on the road with a 4-9 SU record. They average 71.8 points per game on 41.9 percent shooting, but those averages drop to 64.2 points on 37.4 percent when they play on the road. Defensively, the Titans allow 72.2 points per game on 43.3 percent shooting. They are 11-12 ATS overall and 7-6 ATS on the road.

The Golden Grizzles have absolutely fallen apart lately, allowing teams to score 80.2 points and shoot 53.3 percent from the field in their last five games. Offensively they’re shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 41 percent from downtown, but that hasn’t made up for a defense that has allowed opponents to score 80-plus points in six of their last nine games. Oakland averages 80.2 points on their home court and is 8-15 ATS and 4-5 ATS in front of its home fans.
There aren’t any fancy trends with this game or any great ATS records to sway you into a decision. What we do know is that Detroit has been absolutely brutal on the road, while Oakland is an absolute scoring machine on its home court. The Grizzles don’t play much defense, but they do score more than enough to cover the small chalk.
When these teams met earlier in the year, Oakland won 77-69, despite the Titans shooting above 50 percent from the field.
If Oakland could do that on the road, it should have more than enough firepower to get the job done at home.
