The Line: San Diego State Aztecs -18.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The San Diego State Aztecs will look to rebound when they host the Air Force Falcons on Saturday.
The Falcons recently snapped a six-game losing streak with a 51-48 victory over the San Jose State Spartans. They held San Jose State to 30.2 percent shooting and forced 18 turnovers. They’ve been in close games all season but just haven’t been able to turn the corner due to an offense that averages just 66.6 points per game. Defensively, they allow 70.6 points on 43.9 percent shooting. They haven’t allowed 70 or more points in six straight games. These close games have made the Falcons 11-7 ATS and 6-2 ATS on the road.
The Aztecs are coming off a 68-62 loss to the Wyoming Cowboys. They made just five threes out of 21 attempts and allowed the Cowboys to knockdown 57.9 percent of their shots. The Aztecs defense has been a little shaky as of late, allowing teams to shoot 47.4 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from downtown in their last five games. Offensively, they’ve scored 70 or more points only once in their last four contests. They are 12-8 ATS and 4-5 ATS on their home court.
The Aztecs are really starting to freak me out with the way they’ve been playing recently. It’s almost like they’re bored of the regular season and just waiting for the NCAA Tournament to begin. However, this is a team that was embarrassed a few days ago and returns home where they are 11-1 SU. The Aztecs are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a SU loss, while the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between these two teams.
I’ll continue to back San Diego State before things get too out of hand. This is still one of the better teams in college basketball.
