The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners hope a home game against the Florida Atlantic Owls will be enough to snap their four-game losing streak.
The Owls have won two straight, including an impressive road win over the UTEP Miners. They shot 52 percent from the field and a late three pointer lifted them over one of the better teams in the C-USA. In their last five games they’re shooting 45.4 percent from the field and holding opponents to just 415 percent shooting. However, on the road, they score just 63.7 points and allow 72.8. They are 12-8 ATS overall and 7-6 ATS on the road.

The Roadrunners have lost seven of their last eight games and a lot of it has to do with the lack of defense. In their last five contests, they’re allowing teams to score 78.6 points on 48.7 percent shooting. During this losing stretch, five teams have scored 80 or more points. Offensively, they average 70.2 points on 43 percent shooting. The offense has been there all season, it’s just the inability to play defense that has cost this team all year. They are 5-10 ATS and 3-4 ATS at home.
With Florida Atlantic playing well and gaining some confidence, you have to like its chances in this game. Not only has it won two straight road games, but it also has a huge advantage in rebounding. The Roadrunners average only 33.9 boards per game, while the Owls snag 37.8 per game.
The Owls are 4-0 ATS in their last four games and are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games played on Saturday.
FAU is a team starting to feel good about itself and should do just enough to add to the Roadrunners misery.
