The Line: Utah State Aggies -4.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Utah State Aggies will look to keep the momentum going when they host the UNLV Rebels. These teams played a few weeks ago and UNLV crushed the Aggies 62-42.
The Rebels have won five of their last six games and are coming off an impressive 48-46 win over Wyoming. During this stretch, they’re averaging 64.6 points and allowing just 61.8 points. Of course, their defense continues to be their bread and butter, as they hold teams to 63.8 points on 39.6 percent shooting. They have held five opponents to under 70 points in their last seven games. Against the spread, they are 14-9-1 and 6-2 on the road.
The Aggies are finally winning again thanks to an offense that is shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 44.1 percent from downtown in their last five games. This team is now 13-3 on the year when scoring at least 70 points. At home, the Aggies average 75 points and shoot a ridiculous 46.3 percent from beyond the arc. Defensively, they allow 67.2 points on 42.1 percent shooting. They are 13-8-1 ATS and 8-31 ATS at home.
This game should be a lot more competitive than their previous meeting, and I like Utah State with the way it plays at home. That shooting percentage on the Aggies home floor is no joke and has led to a 9-3 SU record. Sure, UNLV plays great defense and rebounds well, but will have no answer for when those shots are falling. The Rebels have also lost two of their last three road games.
I’ll take the Aggies at home and the chalk.
