The Line: Quinnipiac Bobcats -7 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Quinnipiac Bobcats could win their fifth straight game with a victory over the visiting St. Peter’s Peacocks. These teams played one another in early January and St. Peter’s won the game 74-67, despite shooting 34.9 percent from the field.
The Peacocks have been shaky all season and are losers in three of their last five games. Of course, it’s because they have one of the worst offenses in the country, shooting 40.1 percent from the field on the season and averaging just 63.4 points. However, they are decent defensively, holding teams to 66.5 points on 41.4 percent shooting. On the road they shoot 40.3 percent and allow opponents to shoot 42.3 percent from the field. They are 7-10 ATS on the season and 4-5 ATS on the road.
The Bobcats are playing their best basketball of the season. During their winning streak, they’re averaging 84.4 points and allowing 78.4 points. At home they average 78.2 points and allow 72 points. They’re also the best rebounding team in the country at 46 boards per game. They are 10-7 ATS on the season and 4-4 ATS at home.
The rebounding factor will be absolutely huge in this game and the Peacocks average just 34.4 per game. Add that to the way the Bobcats shoot the ball at home, and this game could get ugly quite quickly. Quinnipiac has its eyes on a possible MAAC title, while St. Peter’s is just waiting for the season to end.
I know the chalk is a little heavy, but the Bobcats have won seven of their last eight home games SU, and the Peacocks have lost their last four road games.
Quinnipiac shouldn’t have a problem winning this game by double digits.
