Both the Missouri State Bears and Illinois State Redbirds will look to get back on track when they meet Tuesday night. These teams played in early January and the Bears won 78-70 in overtime.
The Bears have lost two of their last three games and are coming off a 60-58 loss to Northern Iowa. They are now 2-6 on the season when being held to 65 or fewer points. The problem is they are averaging just 64.2 points in their last five games. On the road defense has been the real issue, as they score 67.2 points on 43.9 percent shooting, but allow a ridiculous 75.4 points on 48.2 percent shooting. They are 10-10 ATS on the season and 5-6 ATS on the road.

The Redbirds have also lost two of their last three games, but they’re coming off a 70-54 victory over Bradley. They’ve been tough to beat a home with their 10-3 SU record. On their home floor, they average 69.9 points and allow 64 points. In their last five games, they’ve bumped that average up to 77.6 points per game. Daishon Knight is coming off his best offensive performance of the season, as he dropped 26 points in his last game. The Redbirds are 10-14 ATS and 7-5 ATS at home.
With the game nationally televised, you can expect both teams to be up for this matchup. However, it’s tough to pick against Illinois State at home considering it is 4-1 ATS in the last five games against teams with a losing road record. Not to mention the Bears have lost six of their last eight road games.
If you feel the need to touch this game, go ahead and back the home team and the medium chalk.
