The Ole Miss Rebels and the Kentucky Wildcats face off on Tuesday at Tad Smith Coliseum in SEC college basketball.
The Ole Miss Rebels have lost their last two games and three of their last four and they have slipped into fourth place in the SEC. Mississippi is 7-5 in the SEC, 10-3 at home, and 0-1 against teams ranked in the top 25 losing to Kentucky by 16 on February 4th at Rupp Arena. Marshall Henderson leads the Rebels averaging 19.5 points per game. Jarvis Summers is averaging 16.8 points, LaDarius White is averaging 8.2 points, and Derrick Millinghaus is averaging 7.8 points. Ole Miss is averaging 76.2 points and they are shooting 42.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.6 points and their opponents are shooting 41.2 percent. Ole Miss is watching their NCAA Tournament hopes slip away.

The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off of a devastating loss to Florida but they have little time to regroup. Kentucky is 5-5 away from home, 9-3 in the SEC, and 4-2 in SEC away games. Julius Randle continues to lead the Wildcats averaging 15.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. James Young is averaging 14.3 points, Aaron Harrison is averaging 13.4 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 11.3 points. Kentucky is averaging 78 points and they are shooting 46.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.4 points and their opponents are shooting 39.6 percent. Kentucky is talented but as we saw on Saturday they have some work to do if they hope to compete with the best teams in the nation.
Ole Miss is 5-2 against the spread following a loss, 1-5-2 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, and 5-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Kentucky is 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread and 3-12-2 against the spread in their last 17 road games. The underdog has covered the point spread in five of the last six meetings of these two.
This game looks like a coin flip to me and with Kentucky’s poor performance against the number on the road the home dog Rebels are the play here.
