The George Washington Colonials look to snap a two-game losing streak when they travel to Richmond to face the Spiders.
George Washington went from being one of the best teams in the Atlantic 10 to losing three of its last five games. During that stretch, they’re scoring 73 points on 47.3 percent shooting, while the defense is allowing 71.6 points on 41.3 percent shooting. However, they shot just 36.7 percent and turned the ball over 14 times in the loss to Massachusetts. On the road, they average 71.2 points and allow 73.4 points. They are 13-7 ATS overall and 7-5 ATS on the road.
The Spiders have won three straight and could use this game as another chance to climb up the conference ladder. Of course, they’re tough to beat at home, as they average 69.4 points on 43.1 percent shooting and the defense allows 62.3 points on 39.1 percent shooting. The Spiders are also coming off one of their best offensive performances of the season as they dropped 82 points and shot above 50 percent from the field in a win over Fordham. Kendall Anthony has scored at least 20 points in four straight games. They are 11-12-1 ATS and 5-6-1 ATS at home.
This is really a question of which team do you believe will play to its full potential, as they’ve both been a little shaky throughout the year. I like George Washington, but it’s tough to pick against the Spiders at home, a place where they’ve covered four of their last five games and are 11-2 SU.
The offense has picked up a bit and the defense doesn’t give up anything cheap when they play in the Robins Center.
I’ll go ahead and take the Spiders in a toss-up game.
