The Notre Dame Fighting Irish travel to Miami to play the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
Notre Dame improved to 14-12, 5-8 ACC after beating Boston College 73-69 on the road Sunday. On the season, Garrick Sherman leads the Irish with 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, both are team-highs. Eric Atkins is averaging 14 points and a team-high 4.9 assists per game. Notre Dame is averaging 73.6 points per game while shooting a decent 45.7% from the field as a team this season. The Irish are an average rebounding team, pulling down 35.5 boards per game. The Irish have struggled in ACC play this season and they have lost five out of their last eight games overall. To make matters worse, Notre Dame will head out for their second of three straight road games; the Irish are 1-6 on the road this season.

The Miami Hurricanes dropped to 12-13, 3-9 ACC after losing at Virginia Tech 52-45 on Saturday. On the season, Rion Brown leads the Hurricanes in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game, the only player averaging in double-figures for Miami this season. Brown is also averaging a team-high 6.1 rebounds per game. Garrius Adams is averaging a second-best 9.8 points per game while averaging a team-high 2.8 assists per contest. The Hurricanes are only averaging 61.3 points per game while shooting 41.7% from the field, both rank near the bottom in the country. Miami is an average rebounding team and they are awful when it comes to distributing the basketball on the offensive end of the floor. After losing two straight games the Hurricanes bounced back with a win on the road last week, but then went right back to their losing ways on the weekend. Miami will be at home where they have lost their last five conference games.
Neither one of these teams is going to make any noise come conference tournament time. Notre Dame has not played well on the road, while Miami has struggled at home against conference opponents. I think this will be a close, low scoring game, so I’m going to take the points with Notre Dame.
