The Boston College Eagles travel to Syracuse to play the Orange on Wednesday night.
Boston College dropped to 6-19, 2-10 ACC after losing to Notre Dame at home 73-69 on Sunday. On the season, Olivier Hanlan is averaging a team-high 18 points, while Ryan Anderson is averaging 15 points and team-high 7.1 rebounds per game. Hanlan is also averaging 3.7 rebounds and 3 assists per game, while, Joe Rahon is averaging 9.6 points and a team-high 3.3 assist per game. The Eagles are averaging only 69.8 points per game while shooting 44.8% from the field as a team this year. Boston College is one of the worst rebounding teams in the country, averaging only 30.1 boards per contest. The Eagles have lost five straight games and eight out of their last nine games overall. Boston College will head out on the road where they are 1-9 on the season.

The Syracuse Orange improved to a perfect 25-0, 12-0 ACC after beating North Carolina State at home 56-55 on Saturday night. Syracuse is led by C.J. Fair, who is averaging a team-high 16.7 points per game. Trevor Cooney is averaging 13.9 points per game, while Ennis is averaging a team-high 5.6 assists per game. Jerami Grant is averaging 12.5 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. Syracuse is averaging 70.6 points per game while shooting 45.8% from the field as a team this season. The Orange have been dominated on the glass at times in conference play and they haven’t been the best rebounding team all year long, which may be their biggest weakness. However, the Orange have a way of finding different ways to win games and they shouldn’t have a problem winning on Wednesday night. Syracuse hasn’t played their best over the past week and they were lucky to stay undefeated heading into Wednesday’s game.
The Orange shouldn’t have much of an issue beating Boston College; however, if the Eagles can knock down the three-ball they will keep this game close. I think Coach Boeheim has seen enough poor play over the past few games to give his players a kick in the butt before this one. I believe Syracuse will come out and play well to grab some momentum heading into Saturday’s showdown with Duke. The Orange win by 20 on Wednesday night.
