The New Mexico Lobos will go on the road to play the UNLV Rebels in what should be a fantastic Mountain West matchup. These teams played in mid-January and UNLV won an entertaining 76-73 game.
The Lobos rebounded quite nicely from their loss to Boise State with a 90-72 win over Nevada. In their last five games, they’re shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from beyond the arc. During that same stretch, they’re holding opponents to just 41 percent from the field, but allowing them to shoot 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. They average 75 points and allow 69.1 points on the road. They are 10-10 ATS overall and 6-5 ATS away from home.

The Rebels have won two in a row and six of their last seven games. In their last five, they’re shooting 45.1 percent and averaging 64.2 points, while they’re allowing 59.6 points on 40.7 percent shooting. They’ve held four of their last five opponents under 70 points. At home they average 72.1 points and allow just 64.2 points. Senior guard Kevin Olekaible is coming off an impressive 21-point performance in a win over Utah State. They are 15-9-1 ATS overall and 8-7-1 ATS at home.
This game could really go either way and the spread is where it is at simply because UNLV is at home, a place where it is 11-5 SU. The game will likely be decided in the paint, as both teams are ranked in the Top 50 in rebounds per game.
However, I have to take New Mexico and the points simply because I believe they’re the better team. The Lobos offense is one of the best in the country and has mismatches all over the court. They’re also 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
The road team is also 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings between these two teams.
You can just go ahead and take the New Mexico ML.
