The Utah Utes and the Arizona Wildcats face off on Wednesday in Pac-12 college basketball.
The Utah Utes are coming off of a 14-point loss at UCLA that ended their three game winning streak. Utah is 6-7 in the Pac-12, 16-1 at home this season, and 0-1 against teams ranked in the top 25. Delon Wright is averaging 16.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game to lead the Utes. Jordan Loveridge is averaging 15.6 points and 7.6 rebounds, Brandon Taylor is averaging 10.8 points, and Dakarai Tucker is averaging 7.9 points. Utah is averaging 78.7 points and they are shooting 49.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 64.2 points and their opponents are shooting 41 percent. Utah has simply been a different team at home and on the road.

The Arizona Wildcats are coming off of a tough loss at the hands of their rivals at Arizona State but it cost them just two spots in the rankings dropping to fourth. Arizona is 10-2 in the Pac-12, 7-2 away from home, and have a one game lead over UCLA in the Pac-12 standings. Nick Johnson leads the Wildcats averaging 15.8 points per game. Aaron Gordon is averaging 11.8 points and 8.0 rebounds, Brandon Ashley is averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds, and Kaleb Tarczewski is averaging 9.8 points and 6.7 rebounds. Arizona is averaging 73.1 points and they are shooting 46.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 57.5 points and their opponents are shooting 37.9 percent. Arizona is still looking very much like a one seed in the NCAA tournament.
Utah is 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 21-6-1 against the spread in their last 28 home games, and 21-9 against the spread following a loss. Arizona is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games, 1-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-4 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread. The underdog has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
My free pick in this one will be on the total and at 129.5 I like the over very much. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that pick in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
