The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will look to extend their seven-game winning streak when they take on the Charlotte 49ers.
The Blue Raiders have really stepped their game up over the last week or so and are quietly making a case for the best team in the C-USA. During their winning streak, they’re averaging 70.6 points on 48.6 percent shooting, while the defense is holding teams to 57.4 points on 40.3 percent shooting. Both sides of the ball have played well for most of the year, but those averages are taking it to another level. On the road they average 64.9 points and allow 66.7 points. They are 11-11 ATS overall and 3-8 ATS on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
The 49ers are in somewhat of a freefall, losing three straight and five of their last seven. In their last five games, they’re shooting just 39.5 percent from the field and averaging 63.6 points. This is usually one of the better offensive teams in the conference, averaging more than 70 points and shooting 44.3 percent on the season. Defensively, they’ve allowed 63.6 points on 41.7 percent shooting. They allow 68.8 points and average 74.9 points on their home court. They are 10-10 ATS overall and 4-4 ATS at home.
This is a tough game to cap because you aren’t sure which 49ers team is going to show up. They’ve been great at home all season and Middle Tennessee has struggled somewhat on the road. The shots have to start falling for Charlotte eventually and there’s no better time for that to happen than at home.
The 49ers have won five of their last six games at the Dale F. Halton Arena and should be up for this game as well.
I’ll take the 49ers in a pick'em game.
