The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks go on the road to face the Georgia State Panthers at GSU Sports Arena.
Sometimes in the world of college basketball improvement is not only measured in wins and losses but by the numbers that teams have built. In the case of Louisiana-Monroe things have gotten better in all areas although there is obvious room to improve further. The Warhawks snapped a three game slide in 65-49 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday as they took an eleven point lead early on and never looked back. The Warhawks 44% shooting was a decisive number with the Trojans held to 31% in an otherwise even boxscore. Tylor Ongwae led all scorers with 25 points and five yanks with Jayon James and RJ McCray netting 12 points apiece with James hauling in eleven rebounds and posting eight helpers.

The numbers say Georgia State is a score first squad which is entirely true but the Panthers can bring the defense when they choose and did so Monday against Texas State as they bounced back from their lone conference defeat. The Bobcats were hammered 68-41 with only 14 first half points to lean on as the Panthers allowed 29% shooting and forced 13 turnovers while burning the nets with their own 52% marksmanship which accounted for nine more makes from the floor. Ryan Harrow led the scoring charge with 17 points with Manny Atkins right on his heels with 15 points and seven boards while RJ Hunter and Curtis Washington added 12 and ten points with Hunter snagiing eight rebounds.
There is really not a whole lot to say here except a focused Georgia State wins big or one that is going through the motions just wins. Either way the ball is in their court...
