The Southern Miss Golden Eagles will look to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners have lost four of their last five games, but are coming off a home victory over Florida Atlantic. However, the shooting struggles continue, as they’re averaging just 68.4 points on 40.7 percent shooting in their last five games. Defensively, they’ve given up 74.6 points on 44.5 percent shooting. They have been absolutely brutal on the road, allowing 81.1 points and scoring just 65.9 points. As expected, they are 6-10 ATS overall and 2-6 ATS on the road.

The Golden Eagles lost back-to-back road games and were held under 65 points in both meetings. This is a team that shoots 45.9 percent from the field and averages 71.5 points on the season. In the loss to Middle Tennessee, they shot 48.9 percent but turned the ball over 17 times. Still, you have to feel optimistic about them returning home where they average 73.9 points and hold opponents to just 56.4 points. After all, they are 11-0 SU on their home court. They’re also 14-8-1 ATS overall and 7-1 ATS at home.
There’s no question who the better team is in this matchup and the Golden Eagles will be eager to take out their frustrations on the poor Roadrunners. However, we’re talking about 20-plus points here. That’s a lot for any team to cover, especially a team that’s struggling a little bit. Southern Miss will just be happy to get in the win column.
The Golden Eagles are 0-1 ATS this season when the spread is 20-plus. They’re also 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games when suffering a SU loss.
Texas-San Antonio is going to lose this game pretty easily. But the spread is just too large to turn down.
