The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Missouri Tigers face off on Saturday in SEC college basketball action.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are having a rough season on the basketball court and they have lost six of their last seven games. Alabama is 4-9 in the SEC and 10-4 at home this season and 4-2 in SEC home games. Trevor Releford is averaging 19 points per game to lead the Crimson Tide. Retin Obasohan is averaging 10 points, Nick Jacobs is averaging 8.4 points, and Levi Randolph and Shannon Hale are averaging 8.0 points each. Alabama is averaging 67.8 points and they are shooting 44 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.7 points and their opponents are shooting 42.8 percent. Alabama has played the third ranked schedule in the nation but they have failed to win a single road game.

The Missouri Tigers have won their last three games as they try and stake their claim to a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Missouri is 7-6 in the SEC and 6-5 way from home this season. Jabari Brown leads the Tigers in scoring averaging 20.1 points per game. Jordan Clarkson is averaging 18.8 points, Earnest Ross is averaging 14.3 points and 6.4 rebounds, and Johnathan Williams III is averaging 6.1 points and 7.0 rebounds. Missouri is averaging 75 points and they are shooting 46.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 69 points and their opponents are shooting 40.1 percent. Missouri is on a four way tie for fourth place in the SEC standings.
Alabama is 2-5-3 against the spread against the SEC, 4-12-3 against the spread in their last 19 games, and 6-13 against the spread in their last 19 home games against a team with a losing road record. Missouri is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 2-7-1 against the spread following a win, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games following three or more home games.
Missouri is rolling and while I am not thrilled with a Frank Haith coached team on the road they are the pick here with the stakes high.
