The Clemson Tigers travel to Georgia Tech to play the Yellow Jackets on Saturday afternoon.

The Clemson Tigers improved to 16-9, 7-6 ACC after beating North Carolina State 73-56 at home on Tuesday night. On the season, K.J. Daniels leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Daniels is a highlight waiting to happen on any play and he is a legit playmaker for this Clemson squad. Rod Hall is averaging a second-best 9.2 points per game while averaging a team-high 3.7 assists per game. The Tigers are averaging only 62.5 points per game while shooting only 41.4% from the field as a team this season. Clemson is one of the better rebounding teams in the ACC, but they are terrible at distributing the basketball on the offensive end of the floor. After losing three straight games, Clemson bounced back against the Wolfpack at home on Tuesday. Clemson will hit the road where they have lost four of their last five games in conference play.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Clemson Tigers Pick-Odds-Prediction 2/22/14

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets dropped to 13-13, 4-9 ACC after losing at home to Duke 68-61 on Tuesday night. On the year, the Yellow Jackets have been led by Trae Golden. Golden is averaging a team-high 13 points and 3.1 assists per game for Georgia Tech. Marcus Georges-Hunt is averaging 12 points per game, while Daniel Miller is averaging 7.8 rebounds per contest. The Yellow Jackets are shooting 43.7% from the field while averaging 67.1 points per game as a team this season. Georgia Tech is a good rebounding team, averaging 36.3 boards per game. The Yellow Jackets have not won two straight games since mid-December and have really struggled in conference play. Georgia Tech will be at home where they have lost three of their last four games.

Clemson is a solid team when they are giving their best defensive effort, because their defense is one of the best in the country statistically.  Georgia Tech has struggled against tough physical teams and I think they will have a difficult time at home on Saturday. Clemson hasn’t played well on the road but I think they will have enough firepower to get the job done at Georgia Tech.
