The Kent State Golden Flashes host the dangerous Buffalo Bulls in Saturday afternoon MAC action.
Buffalo has shown plenty of improvement in the 2013-14 season and will probably need even more as the end of the regular season draws closer and each game has added importance. The Bulls moved in to the top four of the MAC following a 96-90 decision over an Akron squad that would not go away. This was the very definition of a shootout with the Zips hitting at over 52% from the floor while Buffalo responded with 63% marksmanship. Josh Freelove paced the offensive explosion with 21 points followed by the duo of Javon McCrea and Jarod Oldham with 20 points apiece with NcCrea grabbing 13 rebounds while Shannon Evans tossed in 13.

Kent State appears to be coming around and whether that continues remains to be seen. If it does continue a spot in the top four of the conference is certainly a possibility especially if both ends of the floor are on the same page as we saw in Wednesday's 75-63 decision at Miami (Ohio) for win number three in a row. The Golden Flashes burned the nets at 52% from the field including an impressive 15-26 display of long range shooting which overwhelmed the not too shabby 47.6% accuracy of the Redhawks. Leading scorer Kris Brewer exploded for 28 pointsand five yanks with Devareaux Manley next in line with 15 points followed by Derek Jackson and another ten points.
Not really much to go on here with both playing well. I think Buffalo is the better team but the home team has fared well in this match up which is about all I have in a complete coin flip...
