The San Diego State Aztecs and New Mexico Lobos will clash Saturday night in a battle between the top two teams in the Mountain West. It’s the first of two scheduled meetings in the next two weeks.
The Aztecs continue to roll and have won 22 of their last 23 games. And while they’ve been one of the more consistent teams in the country, they have struggled a bit on the road, either losing or wining by just five points in their last three road games. They average 69.2 points and allow 63.2 points away from home. They are 13-9 ATS overall and 5-3 ATS on the road.

The Lobos have won eight of their last nine games and have lost their only two conference matchups by a combined four points. At home, they shoot 48.8 percent from the field and average 78.2 points, while the defense allows 67 points on 39.2 percent shooting. They are 11-10 ATS overall and 4-5 ATS on their home court.
This is one of those games you’ll probably want to watch the first few minutes and then try to get in on a live wager depending on what’s happening. It’s just too close to call and could truly go either way. However, for the sake of the article, I’m going to go with the Lobos on their home floor.
The Aztecs have been money all season long, but they’ve also been shaky on the road. I’m also not sure they have the offensive firepower to keep up with New Mexico. The Lobos are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games, and the Aztecs are 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings against New Mexico.
Feel confident in taking New Mexico and the small chalk.
