The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will look to shake a surprising loss when they stay on the road and play the Old Dominion Monarchs.
The Bulldogs were upset by the East Carolina Pirates on Thursday. In the loss they shot just 37.5 percent from the field and25 percent from beyond the arc. That’s certainly not the same team that’s averaging 79.2 points and shooting 44.6 percent from the field during their last five games. Defensively, they’ve allowed just 65 points on 42.6 percent shooting. On the road, they average 79.9 points and allow 72.1 points. They are 11-9 ATS overall and 6-6 ATS on the road.

The Monarchs have won three of their last five games and are coming off a win over Rice, but their offense continues to be their downfall. They haven’t scored more than 55 points in three of their last four games and are shooting 36 percent from the field in their last five games. This, of course, puts a ton of pressure on the defense, which is allowing 62.6 points on 42.1 percent shooting in their last five contests. At home they average 65.8 points and allow 63.3 points. They are 11-13 ATS overall and 3-7 ATS at home.
This spread is surprisingly low for me and makes me believe it’s a slight overreaction to the Louisiana Tech loss to East Carolina. It was a bad loss, but things happen. Syracuse lost to Boston College, doesn’t mean we’re going to fade the Orange for the rest of the year.
The Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss and are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with a losing SU record.
Louisiana Tech is by far the better team in this matchup and should really have no problem covering the low number.
