The Line: Richmond Spiders -5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Richmond Spiders hope to bounce back from a recent loss when they host the La Salle Explorers.
The Explorers have lost four straight games and seven of their last eight. During this stretch, they’re shooting only 39.2 percent from the field and averaging 63.6 points, while the defense is allowing 69.4 points on 45.1 percent shooting. They’re also averaging 13 turnovers. Their offense gets even worse on the road, as they score just 61.2 points on 39 percent shooting and the defense gives up 68.3 points. They are 5-16-1 ATS overall and 3-9 ATS on the road.

The Spiders are coming off a home loss to George Washington. During the 73-65 loss, they were out rebounded 45-33 and shot just 42.9 percent from the free throw line. Only two of the three starters scored more than two points. That was their first home loss since mid-December, as they’re averaging 69.1 points and allow 63.1 points on their home court. They are 11-13-1 ATS overall and 5-7-1 ATS at home.
La Salle is only 2-7 SU on the road and has major issues putting the ball in the hoop. That’s likely not going to change against one of the better defenses in the Atlantic 10.
The Spiders are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with a losing SU record and have won four of the last six meetings against the Explorers SU.
I’ll take the Spiders and the chalk at home.
