The Fresno State Bulldogs and Utah State Aggies will meet in a Mountain West showdown Saturday night.
The Bulldogs had their five-game winning streak snapped on the road by Wyoming, but they put up a good fight, losing by six points and covering the spread. In their last five contests, they’re still averaging 73.2 points on 44.2 percent shooting and holding teams to 62.4 points on 39 percent shooting. However, they still need to prove they can win on the road, as they’re 3-10 SU away from home, averaging 68.4 points and allowing 75.1 points. They are 14-10-1 ATS overall and 8-4-1 ATS on the road.

The Aggies have lost two games in a row thanks to back-to-back games against UNLV and San Diego State. In their last five games, they’re averaging 67.4 points and shooting 40.6 percent from beyond the arc. Defensively, they’re allowing 68 points on 43.4 percent shooting. They’ve been a lot better at home this season, averaging 74.1 points and allowing 67 points. They are 13-10-1 ATS overall and 8-4-1 ATS on their home court.
The spread on this game is interesting considering the Bulldogs continue to play solid basketball and have been a money making machine as of late. They’ve covered their last seven games and are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games against teams with a winning home record.
Meanwhile, the Aggies are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS loss.
Fresno State doesn’t play pretty basketball, but does find a way to grind the game out and make it closer than it probably should be. Utah State has looked sluggish its last few games and has had trouble putting the ball in the hoop.
That fits right into the hands of Fresno State. This game will be closer than expected.
