The William & Mary Tribe look to lock up a top four spot in the CAA against visiting Northeastern.
Northeastern has been difficult to get a handle on at times as they win when least expected an go flat when you think things are going good. The Huskies were hoping to build on their road rout of Charleston with Towson in town but it was not to be with the Tigers winning 79-70 on Thursday. Although Northeastern shot the ball well at 48% the Tigers were better with 54% marksmanship and five more free throws. TJ Williams did not miss a shot, going 6-6 for 17 points followed by a 15 point, nine pull effort from Scott Eatherton while Reggie Spencer and David Walker combined for 21 points with Walker posting seven assists.

With the end of the regular season fast approaching and the playoffs about to begin William & Mary is probably concerned about the highs and lows they tend to go through. The Tribe can look like world beaters one night and get blasted the next. It was the latter in 87-54 defeat at Charleston that was never close with the Cougars up 16 after 20 minutes. With CofC connecting at over 63% from the floor and the Tribe countering with 36.7% including 1-14 from long range this one was surprisingly one sided. Tim Rusthoven and Omar Prewitt added 13 points each to lead the W & M scoring with Marcus Thornton and Sean Sheldon combining for 17 points.
Northeastern can be more competitive then their record leads you to believe while William & Mary is obviously better but baffles me at times with how bad some of their defeats have been. I'm backing the Tribe off an awful loss because I'm interested in how they respond...
