Storyline: Rider tries to avoid consecutive losses when they welcome Siena to Alumni Gymnasium Sunday.

Rider connected on 44.1 percent from the floor and 7 of 26 from outside the arc to the Gaels’ 46.3 percent from the field and 6 of 23 from distance. The Broncs were edged on the boards 40-37 and struggled from the free throw line, hitting just 10 of 20. Meanwhile, Siena improved to 8-9 for 6th place in the conference behind its 67-63 upset of Manhattan Friday. The Saints were outshot from the floor 41.7 percent to 37.3 percent, but topped the Jaspers from beyond the arc 38.9 percent to 33.3 percent. Siena conceded a 42-36 rebounding advantage, but converted 16 of 22 from the foul line and forced 16 turnovers. Junior G Rob Poole scored 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting, junior G Evan Hymes had 17 points off the bench, and and freshman G Marquis Wright added 8 points, 6 assists, and 6 boards. On the season, the Saints are averaging 70.0 ppg on 42.2 percent shooting. Poole leads the team with 15.4 ppg, followed by sophomore F Brett Bisping at 10.0 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: The line in this matchup is currently set at -4 for Rider. Siena stifled the Broncs when these two got together in the beginning of January, holding them to a season-low 47 points and 27.5 percent shooting. Rider’s at home this time around, but Siena comes in off its best performance of the season so look for, at least, a closer game than the spread.
