The Line: Kansas Jayhawks -11 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Storyline: 8th-ranked Kansas can all but assure itself a 10th consecutive regular season title with a win over Oklahoma when the two sides square off at Allen Fieldhouse Monday.
The Breakdown: The Jayhawks improved to 12-2 for a three game lead in the Big 12 after an 85-54 dismantling of Texas Saturday, essentially locking down the conference with just four games left on the slate. Kansas avenged its Feb. 1 81-69 loss to the Longhorns in smothering fashion, holding them to 34.4 percent from the floor and 4 of 13 from outside the arc, while connecting on 51.7 percent from the field and 7 of 21 from distance. The Jayhawks finished with a narrow 39-37 advantage on the boards and converted 16 of 21 from the free throw line to the Horns’ 8 of 19. Freshman G Andrew Wiggins scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, freshman G Frank Mason had 14 points off the bench, and freshman C Joel Embiid added 13 points and 7 boards and 6 blocks. On the season, Kansas is averaging 79.7 ppg on 50.3 percent shooting. Wiggins leads the team with 16.4 ppg, followed by sophomore F Perry Ellis at 13.4 ppg.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma sits in a three-way tie for second place in the conference with Iowa State and Texas, improving to 9-5 after a decisive 86-73 victory over Kansas State Saturday. Sophomore G Buddy Hield scored a team-high 18 points, including three of six from downtown, sophomore G Isaiah Cousins had 17 points and 4 assists, and senior F Cameron Clark added 11 points and 8 rebounds. The Sooners shot 50.9 percent from the floor and hit 10 of 23 from outside the arc to the Wildcats’ 50.0 percent from the field and 9 of 16 from distance. OU also finished with a 32-28 rebounding edge and converted 20 of 26 from the line. Through 27 games, the Sooners are averaging 82.8 ppg on 45.2 percent shooting. Hield leads the team with 16.7 ppg, followed by Clark at 15.2 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: Kansas opened up an 11-point favorite in this matchup. The Jayhawks scored a 90-83 road victory over Oklahoma back in the beginning of January when the Sooners were still getting their footing. OU has been fairly steady since and come on as a pretty solid number two for much of the season. Look for a closer game than the spread.
