The Line: Eastern Michigan Eagles -12 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Eastern Michigan Eagles hope to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the Central Michigan Chippewas. These teams played one another back in mid-January and Eastern Michigan won 72-59.
The Chippewas have since snapped a three-game losing streak with two straight wins. Those back-to-back conference wins leave them at 3-11 SU in conference play. In their last five games, they’re averaging 75.8 points on 43.3 percent shooting and allowing 82.4 points on 51.7 percent shooting. Defense has been an issue for them all season long, as they’ve allowed 80 or more points in 10 games. On the road they average 68.2 points and give up 77.5 points. They are 9-12-1 ATS overall and 5-4-2 ATS on the road.

The Eagles have lost two straight, which has knocked them down to 7-7 SU in conference play. Losers in four of their last seven games, they’re still holding teams to just 59 points on 33.7 percent shooting in their last five contests. Defense has been key for them all season, as they allow 62.5 points. Offensively, they’ve come up short of 70 points in eight of their last 10 games. They average 66.5 points and give up 59.6 points at home. They’re also 13-10 ATS overall and 6-4 ATS at home.
This really comes down to which side is going to blink first, the Cippewas offense or the Eagles defense. Whichever side dictates the pace of the game will determine how close this game is going to be. Eastern Michigan had the upper hand in the first meeting, but Central Michigan has won four of the last six meetings.
The Chippewas are also 4-1 ATS in their last four road games, while the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between these two teams.
This is a rivalry game. I’ll take the double digit points.
