The Line: George Mason Patriots -1.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Richmond Spiders will play three of their last four games on the road and one of those stops is a visit to play the George Mason Patriots.
The Spiders are playing solid basketball as of late, winning four of their last five games. During that stretch they’re averaging 69.6 points on 44.5 percent shooting and allowing 62.4 points on 38.9 percent shooting. They’ve also been shooting 38.8 percent from downtown, which is a solid six-percent increase from their season average. On the road, they’re averaging 69.7 points and giving up 70.3 points. They are 12-13-1 ATS overall and 6-6 ATS on the road.
The Patriots haven’t played in a week and are coming off an overtime loss to the Saint Louis Billikens. In the loss, they shot 49.2 percent from the field and won the rebounding margin by seven. The Patriots have drastically improved their offense over their last five games, averaging 78 points on 46.7 percent shooting. However, the defense has allowed 81.2 points on 46.6 percent shooting. At home they average 72.1 points and allow 73.3 points. They are 10-13 ATS overall and 3-7 ATS on their home court.
Richmond has really taken its play to another level behind junior guard Kendall Anthony. However, George Mason hasn’t been pushovers over the last month or so. Seven of the Patriots last nine losses have been decided by six or less points. That includes two games against St. Louis, George Washington and UMass. Add that to the fact they’ve had a week off, and you have to take the home team and the small chalk.
The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these two teams, and the Spiders are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.
Give me George Mason.
