The Line: Dartmouth Big Green +4.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Dartmouth Big Green will hope to snap their six-game losing streak when they host the Columbia Lions on Friday. These two teams played a couple of weeks ago and Columbia won 69-59.
The Lions enter this matchup with a three-game winning streak, as they’re quietly emerging as the third best team in the Ivy League. They’ve really flexed their muscles defensively, holding opponents to under 70 points in seven of their last eight games. Offensively, they’re averaging 69 points on 43.5 percent shooting in their last five matchups. On the road, they average 60 points and allow 63.7 points. They are 10-7 ATS overall and 6-5 ATS on the road.
The Big Green have hit rock bottom over the last two weeks. During their losing streak, they’re averaging 62 points on 39.9 percent shooting and allowing 71 points on 42.3 percent shooting. They haven’t scored more than 67 points during this large losing streak. And although they’ve allowed 70-plus points three times in their last six games, four of the six losses have been decided by double digits. At home, they average 66.7 points and allow 66.8 points. They are 5-10 ATS overall and 3-3 ATS on their home court.
Both teams are heading in the opposite direction and Dartmouth seems to have mailed it in at this point in the year. While the Big Green’s defense has been a bright spot all year, the Lions were able to shoot 47.6 percent and knockdown seven threes in their meeting just a couple of weeks ago.
That’s why I’m going with the Lions to get the win once again.
Columbia is playing with much more confidence and has beaten Dartmouth SU in five of the last seven meetings.
Take the Lions and the chalk.
