The Line: Fairfield Stags -1.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Fairfield Stags will play their last regular season game of the season when they host the Marist Red Foxes. These teams played back on the second of January, and the Red Foxes won 75-56.
The Red Foxes have lost two in a row and three of their last five games. During this stretch, they’re averaging 72.6 points on 39.7 percent shooting and allowing 76.6 points on 45.7 percent shooting. Give or take a few points, those numbers are pretty much on par with their season averages. On the road they average 67.9 points and allow 76.5 points. They are 13-13 ATS overall and 8-7 ATS on the road.

The Stags return from a three-game road trip, and they continue to stink it up, as they’re just 3-16 SU in conference play. They shoot less than 40 percent on the season and average just 63 points. Defensively they’re pretty solid, allowing 70 points on 42.6 percent shooting, but those numbers have climbed to 74 points on 47.3 percent shooting in their last five games. The Stags have allowed 80 or more points in two of their last five games. At home, they average 61.7 points and allow 66.8 points. They are 13-12 ATS overall and 3-7 ATS on their home court.
Looking at the way both teams have played, Marist should win this game fairly easily. However, this is the last game of the season for Fairfield and emotions will be riding high, especially for the seniors. I expect to see a motivated basketball team like it was on Wednesday when losing to St. Peter’s by one point.
The Stags are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against teams with a losing SU record, and the home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings between these two teams.
Give me Fairfield and the minor chalk.
