The Rider Broncs play host to the Canisius Golden Griffins at Alumni Gymnasium on Friday.
The only thing left to be determined from a Canisius point of view with two games remaining is whether they will finish fourth or fifth. The Golden Griffins have been riding their high scoring attack to victories in three of four which has them on the brink of a 20 win season. Fairfield felt the brunt of this offense and couldn't keep up in a 90-78 defeat on Saturday. Markmanship was the decisive factor with the Golden Griffins firing away at 52% while the Stags connected at 42%. The one, two punch of Billy Baron and Zach Lewis was to much for FF with a combined 43 points with Chris Perez adding 13 while Jordan Heath and Phil Valenti netted eleven points each.

If you have followed Rider basketball through the years you know this has been a team that scores the basketball. Get the score in to the 70's and take your chances pretty much describes this team but the points haven't been easy to come by the past few weeks and the result has been losses in five of six following a 69-60 defeat to visiting Siena as the Saints erased a four point second half deficit. Neither team had the shooting touch with the Broncs 33% accuracy making the Saints 38.6% shooting look good. Jimmie Taylor paced the attack with 15 points and five pulls with Daniel Stewart adding 12 points and eight rebounds while Junior Fortunat and Khalil Alford combined for 15 points.
Canisius has to win this to set up a season ending showdown with Manhattan for third but hold your nose when that putrid Golden Griffins defense needs a stop...
