The Central Michigan Chippewas shoot for the season sweep of Ball State at Worthen Arena.
Central Michigan doesn't have a great deal at stake as the end of the season nears although a strong finish might help them avoid one of the MAC big boys in the first round of the conference playoffs. The Chippewas were heading in that direction with consecutive victories before the good times came to an abrupt end in a 64-42 defeat at Eastern Michigan where a 19 point first half set the tone behind a mere 24.5% from the field and 15 giveaways. Chris Fowler was the lone double digit scorer with ten points with Rayshawn Simmons netting seven.

It appears that escaping the conference basement might be a bit of a tall order for Ball State with time running out on them. The Cardinals have only one league victory to their credit but have let several wins slip through their fingers so in my view this is not a team to overlook. Western Michigan can attest to that as the visitors needed to rally from a nine point deficit to win in overtime by an 88-81 count. Ball State connected at a solid 47% from the floor but gave the ball away 16 times and lost the battle at the stripe 23-18. Zavier Turner was the go to scorer with 20 points and five yanks followed by 17 points from Jesse Berry while Chris Bond and Mading Thok netted 14 points apiece with Bond hauling in ten rebounds.
I think Ball State is better then given credit for but I can also understand given their record. Just not enthusiastic about this in any way and the numbers say that...
