Storyline: Texas Tech tries to put the brakes on a four-game slide when they visit Baylor at the Ferrell Center Saturday.
The Breakdown: The Red Raiders dropped to 5-10 for 9th place in the Big 12 after a 60-56 home loss to Kansas State Tuesday. Senior F Dejan Kravic scored a team-high 13 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks, junior F Jordan Tolbert had 10 points and 9 boards, and sophomore G Toddrick Gotcher added 9 points and 5 rebounds. Tech dominated the boards 34-24 and converted 17 of 23 from the free throw line, but was outshot from the floor 40.4 percent to 36.5 percent and from outside the arc 30.0 percent to 10.0 percent. Through 28 games, the Red Raiders are averaging 70.1 ppg on 46.0 percent shooting. Senior F Jaye Crockett leads the team in scoring with 14.1 ppg, followed by Tolbert at 11.1 ppg.

Meanwhile, Baylor sits in 7th place in the conference at 6-9 and come in off a 74-69 loss at 24th-ranked Texas Wednesday. Junior G Kenny Cherry scored a game-high 27 points, including 5 of 7 from downtown, senior F Cory Jefferson had 14 points and 12 rebounds, and junior F Ryce O’Neal added 9 points added 9 points and 5 boards. The Bears shot 36.1 percent from the floor and connected on 8 of 22 from outside the arc to the Longhorns’ 47.5 percent from the floor and 8 of 16 from distance. Baylor also conceded a slim 41-40 rebounding edge. On the season, Baylor is averaging 75.6 ppg on 45.7 percent shooting. Jefferson leads the team with 13.2 ppg, followed by senior G Brady Heslip at 11.3 ppg.

Tech took out Baylor 82-72 at home 6 weeks ago, which sent them on a losing streak that that took them nearly a month to rebound from.
